Oli Simonon

After graduating from Nottingham Trent University with a degree in Theatre Design, Oli worked as Assistant Designer to Totie Driver on various productions including Oliver! and Miss Saigon.

Moving to Brighton in 2006 she was a regular fixture at Glyndebourne Opera’s esteemed props department for 6 consecutive seasons, alongside jobs as a scenic painter and poly sculptor whilst continuing to work with Totie on the international legs of more Cameron Macintosh productions. In 2012 she co-founded Brolli props and went on to create unique and wonderful things, from props for various theatre productions to one off commissions for private clients.

Oli first worked for Nick on the Firebird project in 2015 and has been a regular member of the team ever since. Oli has an almost unhealthy passion for working with plastazote and when she’s not sculpting, precision cutting or assembling it she can be found applying her fastidious attention to detail to the fabrication of the perfect cup of tea. Outside of the workshop Oli is kept busy by her 2 vivacious young boys and her inspiring side hustle Simoons Studio from where she dispatches her simple but stunning constellation woodblock prints and lightboxes to happy customers all over the world.
